Stone Harbor Investment Partners Announces Hiring of Head of Distribution and Product Management for the Americas

Stone Harbor Investment Partners LP (“Stone Harbor”), a global institutional fixed income investment manager with expertise in emerging markets debt and global credit strategies, announced that Mark A. Weiller has joined the firm as Head of Distribution and Product Management for the Americas. He will be based in New York.

“We’ve been searching for the right combination of talent, experience and relationships to lead our effort in the Americas,” said Peter Wilby, Managing Partner and Co-CIO. “Mark brings to Stone Harbor broad experience in asset management business leadership and development, and a highly successful record in emerging markets distribution.”

Weiller brings 28 years of experience in the asset management industry. Before joining Stone Harbor, he was Investment Director, Emerging Markets, for M&G Investments US. Prior to M&G, he worked in senior management and distribution roles at New Sparta Asset Management, Ashmore Investment Management and Citigroup Asset Management.

Weiller earned an MPA in International Economic Policy from Columbia University, an MBA from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business and a BA in International Relations from Syracuse University.

“I was drawn to Stone Harbor for both its long-term history in emerging markets credit as well as its broader capabilities in developed market credit and asset allocation outcome-oriented strategies,” said Weiller. “I’ve known the team for almost 20 years and look forward to helping Stone Harbor achieve its next level of growth by providing a wide array of solutions to clients.”
