MetLife Receives Top Score on Disability Equality Index

MetLife, announced that it has received a top score on the Disability Equality Index (DEI), making the company a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” for the fourth year in a row.

The DEI, a joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN, is a national benchmarking tool that gives companies an opportunity to self-report their disability inclusion policies and practices. The 2020 index measured culture and leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices, community engagement, supplier diversity, and approach to disability inclusion in non-U.S. operations.

“MetLife promotes the hiring, development, and support of people with disabilities so they can move forward in their careers and realize their potential,” said Dr. Cindy Pace, MetLife’s global chief diversity and inclusion officer. “We are proud to be recognized for our commitment to a workplace where all employees can share their unique abilities, experiences and talents.”

The MetLife Diverse Abilities inclusion network champions disability inclusion and awareness among MetLife employees, customers and communities, helping people with disabilities access essential resources and take advantage of opportunities.

MetLife also supports entrepreneurship and innovation among people with disabilities by partnering with organizations such as Disability:IN to identify Disability Owned Business Enterprises.
