Ryan’s Trisha C. Fortune Receives Institute for Professionals in Taxation Distinguished Service Award

Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, announced that Principal Trisha C. Fortune is a recipient of the 2019-2020 Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented to one or more individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Institute over an extended length of time.

Ms. Fortune stood out for her invaluable contributions to the organization as well as her outstanding leadership, which have significantly enhanced and broadened IPT’s goals and educational objectives. In addition to serving on various program committees over the past 15 years, she led the revision of the Institute’s 3rd Edition (2019), Sales and Use Taxation publication and has significantly contributed to the newly formed Awareness Committee, focused on raising IPT’s recognition within the state and local tax (SALT) community. Ms. Fortune also volunteered to study the structure of the Local Luncheon Committees and was one of the first to visit college campuses to promote state and local taxation as a career path. Trisha is currently serving on IPT’s Board of Governors.

Ms. Fortune is based in Ryan’s San Jose, California office and specializes in providing multijurisdictional transaction tax consulting services, including research, planning, and education to clients in the semiconductor, software, energy, chemical, and manufacturing industries. She routinely serves as a guest speaker and lecturer on various tax topics for Ryan clients and industry organizations.
