Seen™ by Snap Finance® Hits Milestone, Expands Role in Connecting Underserved Consumers to Responsible Credit

Part of the Snap ecosystem, Seen Finance hits 250,000 card milestone, launches new products for building credit, and earns FinTech Breakthrough Award

Seen, Snap Finance’s credit card brand, announced a series of milestones: more than 250,000 Seen-branded Mastercard® accounts have been issued since its November 2023 soft launch, two new products have been introduced to help consumers establish or build credit, and Seen’s consumer-facing app has been recognized by the FinTech Breakthrough Awards as Financial Access Mobile App of the Year.

“With Seen, we are expanding our commitment to consumers by offering products which can help them build stronger financial futures,” said Ted Saunders, CEO of Snap Finance.

The milestone of 250,000 Seen-branded credit cards, which are issued by Coastal Community Bank, reflects growing demand for accessible credit options among consumers who have historically had limited access to them.

“With Seen, we are expanding our commitment to consumers by offering products which can help them build stronger financial futures,” said Ted Saunders, CEO of Snap Finance. “Snap Finance has a proven track record of providing access to financing solutions for consumers who are often overlooked by traditional lenders. Seen builds on that mission with credit products designed to help customers establish, strengthen, and rebuild their credit.”

A mobile-first experience is also part of that mission. Seen’s intuitive mobile app was recently named the Financial Access Mobile App of the Year by the FinTech Breakthrough Awards, which recognizes innovation across the global fintech industry.

Seen’s Expanding Portfolio

Seen has recently added two new products to its credit-building portfolio. The Seen Credit Account is specifically designed to give consumers a low-risk way to establish or rebuild credit. A limited purpose credit line and payment activity are reported to national credit bureaus, permitting consumers to improve their credit while minimizing the risk of increasing their overall debt burden. With no credit check and no interest, the Seen Credit Account provides an alternative to secured credit cards that require a pre-activation deposit.

The Seen Secured Mastercard® provides access to a traditional general purpose credit card experience with an initial matching security deposit. Customers who establish a track record of responsible use with existing Seen-branded products may become eligible for an unsecured card over time, creating progression tied to demonstrated positive financial habits.

“Reaching 250,000 cards issued in under three years reflects real and persistent demand among consumers who have had limited options,” said Debtosh Banerjee, EVP, GM of Card Products at Snap Finance. “The Seen Credit Account and Seen Secured Mastercard® give customers additional ways to engage with credit responsibly, and we are focused on building a progression that meets people where they are.”
