The SSI Group Names New President and CEO

The SSI Group, a leader in financial performance solutions for providers and payers, is pleased to announce that Diana Allen, Ph.D., a healthcare executive with more than two decades of revenue cycle experience, has been named the new president and CEO of the company.

Allen most recently served as executive consultant for large physician and health system medical groups for Culbert Healthcare Solutions in Woburn, Mass., and is an adjunct professor of healthcare administration for Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. She replaces longtime president and CEO Jimmy Lyons. Lyons has been with The SSI Group for 23 years, serving as president and CEO since 2012.

“We are pleased to welcome Diana to The SSI Group, and are fortunate to have found someone with such a depth of expertise and a track record of success in revenue cycle leadership,” Lyons said. “Diana brings a wide range of revenue cycle experience on the provider, health plan, and vendor fronts to the role of president and CEO. This breadth of experience and perspective makes her uniquely positioned to understand the challenges our clients and team members face in an evolving environment.”

Allen’s background includes serving as CEO of Physicians Professional Services in Medford, Mass., where she oversaw revenue cycle processes and business growth for Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians and development and expansion efforts for the departments of Dermatology, Medicine, Orthopedics, OB/GYN and Neonatology. Allen’s business development acumen led Physicians Professional Services to add more than $3 million per month in revenue during her first year as CEO.

Allen also is the former vice president of revenue cycle for Somnia Anesthesia, Inc. In this role, she reduced days in accounts receivable from 103 to 42 and decreased aging accounts receivable over 120 days from $46 million to $22 million within her first six months in the leadership role.

“I am excited to continue the extraordinary success The SSI Group has achieved in putting actionable revenue cycle data into the hands of healthcare revenue cycle executives across the country,” Allen said. “I respect the work SSI has done, especially around its claims analytics solution, which uses artificial intelligence to predict, down to the hour, when claim payment will be received from payers. In an era of transformation in healthcare, access to actionable insight is key to helping revenue cycle leaders establish an informed approach to managing their organizations’ financial operations. I am thrilled to lead SSI in the continuation of this journey of excellence, and I look forward to the coming innovations that will further benefit our clients.”

SSI is nationally recognized for excellence in healthcare revenue cycle management solutions. Recently, SSI ranked No. 1 for revenue cycle claims management software by KLAS in the 2020 “Best in KLAS” report, receiving a score of 93. The Category Leader designation is based on a review of interviews conducted with more than 30,000 payers and health systems. This is the fourth time in eight years SSI has received the Category Leader designation from KLAS for revenue cycle claims management software.
