The solution for exchanging points in stores, developed in partnership with Elo and the paySmart processor, allows the use of points in most card machines throughout Brazil

The novelty was created in partnership with paySmart, fintech that develops means of payment solutions for companies in different sectors and that enables the processing of physical and virtual cards. “Livelo’s expansion of the option to use points on machines is an example of how many amazing things we can do when we bring together technology, innovation and the means to complete a transaction. With paySmart’s services, Livelo allows its participants to be able to securely perform transactions with QR Code, completing the redemption in person. This technology has the potential to revolutionize the way consumers interact with reward programs, which are no longer just an online exchange experience to become an effective experience in the physical world”,, CEO of paySmart.

Since the launch of the QR Code points exchange solution in October of last year, Livelo customers have been able to use points only on Cielo machines. The evolution of the possibility of using QR Code points, allowing the inclusion of another 8 purchasers, was possible thanks to the partnership signed with Elo, which integrated the system to its QR Code hub. “Our QR Code payment platform has already helped tens of millions of Brazilians in the country to pay without physical contact and is now available to Livelo customers, who have a practical and secure solution for mobile transactions, developed with technology and hands-on local work”, comments Jacó Silva, Elo’s business development director.

“Since we launched the solution, we have seen that our customers have used their points in establishments such as pharmacies, gas stations, pet shops, bookstores, coffee shops, restaurants and bakeries,” says Massimo. “Increasing our capillarity, the expectation is that the redemption in other segments will grow. It is enough to have a cell phone with a camera so that the participant can exchange their points”, he completes.

How to exchange points with QR Code

To use points in physical stores or deliveries, the customer must have an active Livelo account and download the Livelo app. During the completion of the transaction in the store, the customer must request payment via QR Code in the credit function, enter the Livelo application and select the option “Redemption with QR Code”. The next step is to position the cell phone camera over the QR Code generated by the machine. When the transaction summary appears, showing how many points will be needed to obtain the reward, the customer will need to confirm the transaction. Livelo customers can carry out two transactions per day, with a value of up to R$500 .

Advantages for the merchant

To accept Livelo points at his establishment, the merchant will have no extra cost and no change in the transaction flow. The transaction in points will only appear to customers and the merchant will continue to receive the amount agreed with the acquirer. In addition, the transaction via QR Code is faster, without having to insert the card in the machine. On the other hand, the retailer will offer the innovation to its consumer, since it will allow the exchange of points in its establishment, without the customer having to reach into his pocket to purchase the desired product.

“With the expansion of this solution, Livelo gives even more freedom for customers to use their points whenever and wherever they want and offers an innovative tool to bring more sales to commercial establishments”, says Massimo.
