Georgia healthcare network works to address concerns around healthcare affordability amid uncertain financial times and high unemployment

AccessOne, a leading provider of patient financing options designed to help consumers manage their healthcare costs, today announced its partnership with Augusta University Health System (AU Health), a large healthcare network offering primary, specialty and subspecialty care across the southeast. AU Health patients now have access to flexible, longer-term payment plans, allowing them to get the care that they need regardless of their financial circumstances.

“At AU Health, patient care and the patient experience are our top priorities. Our partnership with AccessOne enables us to provide patients who might be experiencing financial hardship with payment options that fit their economic situation,” said Jennifer Ruda, VP, Revenue Cycle at AU Health. “By providing greater flexibility in how patients pay for care, we’re enabling patients to continue to seek necessary care without delay.”

A recent survey published by the Commonwealth Fund found that nearly half of Americans didn’t have stable insurance during the first half of 2020. The partnership with AccessOne allows AU Health’s uninsured and underinsured patients to choose from zero-interest and low-interest, longer-term payment plans with lower monthly payments that meet their financial needs.

“During an already trying time, patients shouldn’t have to also worry about how they’ll pay for their medical expenses,” said Mark Spinner, CEO of AccessOne. “We’ve partnered with AU Health to ensure all patients have access to payment plans that match their financial needs, with the option to switch to a plan with lower monthly payments if their circumstances change.”
