Tapas Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm, today announced that Greg Greeley, formerly President of Airbnb and Vice President of Amazon Prime, will join as an Advisor. Greeley, whose recent departure from Airbnb was announced last week, stated, “I’m looking forward to applying my experiences of incubating new businesses and innovating at scale to the benefit of Tapas Capital’s founders.” He added, “Tapas Capital delivers a unique partnership differentiated by Founder and managing partner Rob Eldridge’s leadership and his global experiences as a builder and operator. I’m really excited to be joining the firm as an advisor and having the opportunity to roll up my sleeves alongside Tapas’ founders on their journey of building cool, customer-centric and highly scalable products.”
Most recently, Greg was President of Airbnb Homes, overseeing all aspects of the Homes & Stays business, including the marketplace platform of more than 7 million listings in 100,000 cities and more than 190 countries. Previously, Greg spent almost 19 years at Amazon.com where he had an integral role in Amazon’s customer innovations, various growth initiatives, international expansion, business development, and M&A strategies. Prior to Amazon, Greg held leadership positions at Sun Microsystems, United Airlines, and McDonnell Douglas.
“Greg is a global leader with broad experiences in the ecommerce, technology, retail, fulfillment, manufacturing, and transportation industries and I am delighted to have him as an Advisor,” said Rob Eldridge. “I’ve known Greg for many years and I look forward to his support of Tapas Capital’s founder’s efforts around product definition and their go-to-market strategies.”
Today’s announcement follows recent news that Tapas Capital was the lead investor in Market Wagon’s (Carmel, IN) $1 million Seed financing round, and has invested in six companies in 2020 including Fernish (Los Angeles, CA), Give InKind (Tacoma, WA), PostHog (San Francisco, CA) and Vega Cloud (Liberty Lake, WA). Tapas Capital is currently raising its second venture fund.
