Brings Expertise in Cybersecurity Regulation, Compliance and Risk Management
BitGo, the leader in digital asset financial services, announced that Cassandra “Cassie” Lentchner has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the BitGo Trust Companies subject to regulatory approval.
BitGo welcomes Cassie Lentchner as COO for the BitGo Trust Companies! She brings extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, both as an accomplished regulator and legal advisor for clients.
With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Cassie has built an exceptional reputation as both a regulator and as counsel for industry participants. She oversaw compliance and regulatory standards for New York’s groundbreaking BitLicense and cybersecurity policy, when serving as Deputy Superintendent of Compliance for New York Department of Finance Services (NYDFS).
Reporting to Mike Belshe, CEO, Cassie will be responsible for managing the BitGo Trust Companies’ operations to meet the high standards of customer care and provide safe and sound custody of their assets. The BitGo Trust companies consist of BitGo Trust Company, the first purpose-built, qualified custodian regulated by the South Dakota Division of Banking launched in 2018 and BitGo New York Trust Company, regulated by the NYDFS in 2021.

Prior to joining BitGo, Cassie was Senior Counsel at Pillsbury Law where she helped clients develop and implement compliance programs and advised on regulatory, cybersecurity, as well as privacy and security laws.

Before joining NYDFS in 2016, Lentchner held senior positions in the legal and compliance departments at Morgan Stanley and UBS, where her work focused on government and political activities compliance, ethics, anti-corruption and global financial crimes. Earlier in her career, Cassie was in private practice and served on Capitol Hill, where she held the position of Special Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce. Additionally, she served as Senior Counsel for the U.S. Senate, Governmental Affairs Committee.
