IDEMIA launches into the Japanese Bank Card Market

IDEMIA to Supply JIS2 Compliant Contactless Cards to Several Major Issuers and FinTech in Japan

IDEMIA, world leader in Augmented Identity, bank card issuance and payment solutions announces that the Group will provide financial institutions in Japan with dual interface bank cards JIS2 compliant and certified by Visa, JCB and several other networks. The cards have a JIS2 magnetic strip on the surface to enhance the security of contactless payments.

In order to rapidly develop and generalize its offer in Japan, IDEMIA has already delivered its dual interface contactless cards to FinTech issuers such as UPSIDER, Inc, and to large issuers such as Toyota Finance Corporation.

In Japan, issuers can also integrate IDEMIA contactless cards into the Group’s connected digital solutions offering, including Smart PIN which allows the user to obtain the PIN code of a card in a dematerialized manner, or Smart Instant Issuance, for immediate delivery of the card to the nearest branch or point of sale. Individuals can also take advantage of IDEMIA Connect, which enables a card to be activated by simply tapping on a smartphone.

IDEMIA is also continuing to develop its offer to financial institutions around the world, which notably includes GREENPAY, an eco-responsible range for financial institutions, and the FinTech Accelerator Card Program, a system to support FinTech players and neobanks in accelerated deployment. innovative electronic and card payment solutions all over the world.
