As Listerhill Credit Union continues to focus on member services and experiences, it is also looking for ways to increase its profitability. A key driver for success is providing members – when opening an account or replacing a lost or stolen card – with a debit card instantly.

“Our instant issuance service has been foundational to our business strategy, issuing close to 11,000 debit cards to our members in 2019,” said Angie Retherford, vice president of card services at Listerhill Credit Union. “Members love the convenience it provides and are ecstatic they don’t have to wait the typical 7-10 days it takes to receive their payment card in the mail. In addition, it’s a great value add for lost or stolen cards, as we seldom have to order a card for a lost one because the member has already come into the office to have it replaced.”

Since its first implementation of Matica’s Cards on the Spot instant issuance solutions in 2015, Listerhill Credit Union has provided members a consistent member experience across all of its branch locations – enabling instant purchasing power. The convenience instant issuance has provided to its members, as well as the immediate activation of the debit card, also ensures account profitability with interchange revenue due to the member using the card right away.

“Listerhill has been an excellent financial institution to work with, and we are so pleased to see that instant issuance is helping increase satisfaction for its members and ultimately profitability for them,” said Jim Geiger, sales director at Matica. “We continue to look forward to partnering with them to ensure that they offer an exceptional experience for their members.”

In addition to implementing Matica’s Cards on the Spot instant issuance software, Listerhill also uses the Matica S3200 financial instant card printer to offer high-quality debit cards printed with retransfer technology. Matica’s browser-based Cards on the Spot software also easily integrates into Listerhill’s core banking platform – allowing for smooth and efficient card issuance.
