Motus, the definitive leader in reimbursement and management solutions for businesses with mobile-enabled workforces, today announced that it has acquired mobile expense management firm Vision Wireless, LLC. In 2019, Motus introduced a radical new approach to mobile device reimbursement, applying its Fixed and Variable Rate (FAVR) methodology, previously leveraged for vehicle reimbursement, to mobile assets. Since then, the rapid shift to remote work has amplified the need for management and reimbursement solutions addressing mobile devices as a mixed business and personal-use asset.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to 54% of the U.S. workforce working at home full-time, and the vast majority of companies are allowing at least some remote work going forward. This trend is driving significant increases in wireless usage – mobile data, voice and hotspot usage have increased 20-40% over pre-pandemic levels, underscoring the importance of mobile devices as a key tool for remote work enablement. As organizations seek flexible and cost-efficient solutions for streamlining administration of company-provided assets and BYOD programs, Motus has emerged as a leader in addressing these business needs. Its acquisition of Vision Wireless further expands the depth and breadth of service offerings Motus brings to the organizations’ collective customer base.

“For most businesses, remote work and the challenges that come along with it are relatively uncharted waters. Combined with today’s economic uncertainty, it’s never been more important to empower our customers and their mobile workforces with progressive solutions that drive cost efficiencies while also mitigating risk and boosting productivity,” said Craig Powell, President and CEO of Motus. “As we continue to reimagine mobile device and remote work management and reimbursement, we’re excited to bring onboard Vision Wireless – a clear leader with deep customer and industry relationships. This deal will enable us to expand platform offerings for our collective customer base, while also continuing to enhance the white glove services that our customers so greatly value.”

Based in Augusta, GA, Vision Wireless is a trusted partner to Fortune 1000 companies and other organizations with large, complex mobile environments. Its mobile TEM and MMS solutions simplify and streamline all aspects of telecom expense and mobility management. In line with Motus Device, which has been shown to reduce corporate mobile device program spend by 24% on average, Vision’s solutions enable businesses to manage the unique nuances of multi-carrier mobile environments, user support needs and associated telecom expenses.

“Over the past 17 years, the Vision team has built solutions tailored for mobile that have become critical components of our customers’ mobility management. That dedication is reflected in our strong relationships and rapid growth and I’m very proud of what the team has achieved,” said Kevin Steffes, CEO of Vision Wireless. “This next phase opens an exciting chapter for us and our customers as well. Motus is creating innovative solutions that we haven’t seen in the WEM space before. Its exceptional tech-focused team is poised to accelerate new offerings for our customers at a pace and scale we could only achieve together.”
