The award – announced last week at the 2020 Realcomm | IBcon virtual conference in Colorado – recognized Nexus for its ability to continuously improve and reinvent its technology, while incorporating extensive software feedback from clients to meet market needs.

It also cited Nexus for its ability to steadily drive forward industry benchmarks for AP in commercial real estate.

“Lots of companies are simply looking to process invoices quickly. Our efforts are focused around giving customers more: unparalleled visibility into their invoice processes, near real-time data for good budget decision making, as well as cost-effective ways to procure goods and services company wide,” said Julio Palacio, Chief Product & Technology Officer for Nexus. “In addition, our new payments platform has set a new standard for paying suppliers effortlessly, while maintaining security and compliance.”

Realcomm is the leading research and educational institution that produces annual conferences on technology, automated business solutions, and intelligent buildings strategies for executives in commercial, corporate, government, and institutional real estate. Its Digies (short for Digital Innovation) recognize real estate companies, technologies, and people that have gone above and beyond to positively impact the real estate industry. Past winners have included Google, Microsoft Azure IoT, Facebook, and Yardi.

This marks the second Digie Award for Nexus, who won in the same category in 2006.

Jim Whalen, SVP/Chief Information and Technology Officer at Boston Properties, adviser to Realcomm, and long-time end-user of the Nexus platform, wholly supported the win, saying “Nexus is driving dramatic change and innovation for the full procure-to-pay process. Their automation is not just limited to generating purchase orders and routing invoices for approvals. It’s providing a whole suite of software, solutions, and services catering specifically to the needs of commercial real estate by using the cutting edge of technology.”

For more than 20 years, Nexus has helped real estate companies process high volumes of invoices, compare them to budget, route them to approvers, and then submit them for payment. By adding on NexusPayments, clients can opt to have Nexus pay their suppliers automatically and electronically with virtual card, ACH, and/or outsourced check.
