GuideOne Insurance appointed Thomas A. Swank to its board of directors, effective January 1, 2026. Swank currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Wellabe, Inc., a role he has held since retiring in 2024 as Chief Executive Officer and President of the company. Wellabe provides insurance solutions to help its customers protect their health and financial well-being.

Swank was appointed to lead Wellabe in 2015. During his tenure, he restructured the company and management team to create innovative solutions for its clients to drive profitable growth. Under Swank’s leadership, Wellabe tripled assets, doubled premiums and revenues, and increased capital by more than 30%.

Prior to joining Wellabe, Swank served as President and CEO at Aegon Asset Management U.S., an asset management company with approximately $250 billion under management. Swank also served as President and CEO of Aegon’s Individual Savings and Retirement division, which markets mutual fund and annuity products nationally under the Transamerica brand. There, Swank led a business with $9 billion in revenue, $80 billion under management, and a team of 1,400 associates.
Swank completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
