Ryan Hires Tony Gulotta as Principal in the Transaction Tax Practice

Ryan Increases European Corporate Tax Advisory Group With More Strategic Hires

Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, announced that Tony Gulotta has joined the Firm as Principal in the Transaction Tax practice, based in the New York City office. Mr. Gulotta brings more than 25 years of proven experience in transaction tax with a focus on reverse sales tax reviews, fuel tax recoveries, and indirect tax controversy matters for clients in various industries, including financial institutions, automotive manufacturers, airlines, rental car companies, retailers, technology companies, and telecommunications providers.

Prior to joining Ryan, Mr. Gulotta was a partner in the national tax services practice of a large public accounting firm. Previously, he founded a national cost recovery firm that served clients in a variety of industries, as well as several federal agencies, and pursued indirect tax recoveries from taxing jurisdictions that exceeded $250 million. Mr. Gulotta is a licensed attorney and former managing partner at Gulotta Law Group, where he represented clients in federal excise tax issues and various indirect tax issues before courts and administrative tribunals across the country.

Mr. Gulotta served in the United States Army as a platoon leader, company commander, and aide-de- camp for the commander of an Army infantry division and, later, chief of internal review for the Pennsylvania National Guard. He continued to serve in the National Guard until his retirement as a lieutenant colonel in 2007. Mr. Gulotta received the Meritorious Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Paratrooper Badge, and Expert Field Medical Badge. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Widener University School of Law, a Master of Science in Business Administration degree from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Mansfield University.
