Alchemy, the leading AI developer and infrastructure platform for the onchain economy, announced that AgentCard will support Mastercard payment credentials through an integration with Mastercard Agent Pay, giving developers a simple way to build AI agents that can safely complete purchases for users online. The integration brings together Alchemy’s agent infrastructure and Mastercard’s trusted payments network to help agents move beyond recommendations and take action, with user authorization, issuer controls, payment protections and support for verifiable proof of intent built in.
With AgentCard, developers can enable AI agents to make online purchases on a user’s behalf, from ordering food and booking travel to managing digital subscriptions. Through a single CLI, developers can set up AgentCard in under a minute and equip an agent with the identity and payment tools it needs to exist, act and transact online: a dedicated email address, phone number, stablecoin wallet and one-time-use Mastercard payment credentials. The stablecoin wallet gives agents access to emerging agentic payment protocols, while one-time-use Mastercard payment credentials enable purchases at the many online merchants that still rely on traditional credit card rails. Users and issuers can set clear controls for how an agent spends, including purchase limits, merchant categories, and where transactions are allowed, so agents can only act within approved boundaries.
AgentCard integrates with Mastercard Agent Pay, the payments network’s framework for trusted and secure agentic commerce. Through these integrations, agents can transact using one-time-use, tokenized Mastercard payment credentials linked to a user’s existing Mastercard, preserving existing rewards, credit lines, and card benefits without creating new accounts or credentials. AgentCard is also designed to support Verifiable Intent, Mastercard’s framework for proving that an agent acted within the user’s authorized instructions, helping consumers, merchants and issuers understand what was approved, under what conditions and by whom.
