InvoiceCloud Unveils New AI Initiatives to Drive the Next Generation of Digital Payments

InvoiceCloud, a leading provider of online billing and payment services, announced the active rollout of embedded generative and agentic AI technologies within its electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) platform. Building on its history of innovation, InvoiceCloud is committed to responsibly embedding emerging technologies to make billing and payments faster, smarter, and easier—further automating labor-intensive workflows, reducing manual errors, and expediting decision-making for businesses and their customers.

This initiative is part of InvoiceCloud’s broader vision to integrate AI throughout the organization—both in its internal operations and across its platform—to deliver more intelligent, streamlined, and user-friendly payment experiences and customer service. InvoiceCloud is implementing AI to enhance performance, accelerate innovation, and help customers reimagine their bill presentment and payment processes.

“This isn’t just about adding new features—it’s about evolving how we operate and how we serve,” said Kevin O’Brien, CEO at InvoiceCloud. “We’re applying AI across our own teams and technologies to make smarter, faster decisions—and we’re helping our customers do the same. Whether it’s streamlining billing or exploring new AI use cases beyond payments, we’re becoming a partner in their innovation journey.”

InvoiceCloud’s AI initiative is already reshaping how digital billing and payment services are delivered. Among the first of the company’s projects includes:

  • Natural language-driven report builder: Allows billers to generate detailed reports in real-time using simple text prompts, dramatically simplifying and accelerating reporting workflows. The feature is currently in beta and available to a limited number of customers, with general availability expected in June 2025.
  • AI-powered agents: Designed to automate critical payment processes, adapt to real-time transaction changes, and proactively address customer issues. This next phase of innovation is scheduled for release in the second half of the year.

These innovations aim to further streamline complex tasks, strengthen security, and personalize the payment journey for users.

“At InvoiceCloud, we’re not just focused on improving today’s processes—we’re building for the next five years and beyond,” said Steve Schult, Chief Product Officer at InvoiceCloud. “By embedding AI into our platform, we’re tackling the everyday challenges businesses face and creating better, faster results. It’s about freeing up time, reducing errors, and making smarter decisions.”
