Stephen H. Gordon, Chairman, CEO, and President of Genesis Bank, stated, “We are pleased to have Daniel join Genesis as we continue expanding our Commercial Banking Division. With multiple decades of experience originating and managing commercial relationships across Los Angeles and Orange County, Daniel is the caliber of banker we want representing Genesis in our Southern California markets. Fundamentally, we share common principles in serving our clients – by leading with financial ideas and solutions to address our client’s challenges as they seek to expand and grow their companies. Accordingly, our approach to growing Genesis’ commercial banking franchise centers on full client relationships anchored by primary business operating deposit accounts and treasury management, and Daniel’s career reflects that same approach. Importantly, he brings the credit discipline that comes from structuring and underwriting loans through multiple economic and interest rate cycles.”

Balaji Krishna, Executive Vice President, Chief Banking Officer, stated, “Daniel is a complete relationship banker. He is equally effective calling on a business owner, structuring the financing terms, and delivering the treasury management solution that follows, and he has done that work across the full range of businesses we serve – from small businesses to mid-sized companies – in both conventional and SBA lending. He has also led business development teams, which gives him a firsthand appreciation for the discipline it takes to build and grow a durable commercial banking business. Daniel joins an experienced team of bankers at Genesis, and our clients across Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the Inland Empire will clearly benefit from his addition.”

Mr. Morales joins Genesis from BMO Bank, where he served as Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager in Orange County, developing and managing commercial relationships with companies generating $10 million to $50 million in annual revenues. After starting his banking career 30 years ago at Wells Fargo Bank, Mr. Morales has held senior relationship management and sales leadership roles at Wachovia Bank, California Bank & Trust, and Banc of California. Throughout his career, he has been recognized repeatedly for exceeding growth expectations across loans, deposits, and fee income generation, both at the local and national scale. He is a U.S. Navy veteran, having served ten years, including during the Gulf War, before beginning his banking career.
