Mambu Welcomes Nuria Aliño as New Managing Director of Southern and Eastern Europe

Mambu, the leading cloud banking platform, has welcomed another senior executive in the European region, announcing the appointment of Nuria Aliño as Managing Director, Southern & Eastern Europe

Mambu is the world’s only true SaaS cloud banking platform, enabling banks, fintechs, retailers, telcos and more to fasttrack the design and build of financial products and services. Having raised €110 million at a €1.7 billion valuation earlier this year, the company is now expanding its presence across the core European market, as it enters the next phase of its rapid growth.

Based in Madrid, Ms Aliño, is an accomplished banking professional with more than 20 years’ experience in developed and developing markets, was most recently global digital finance specialist at the IFC (World Bank Group). Prior to this, she held senior positions at the Inter-American Development Bank and Spanish banking leader BBVA.

Ms Aliño brings relevant experience in harnessing digital transformation to accelerate financial inclusion, competition and innovation. Throughout her career, she has helped banks and microfinance institutions to build their digital strategies, foster partnerships and innovation, and promote the benefits of open banking to banks and regulators.

In her new role, Ms Aliño will oversee key regional growth markets for Mambu, including Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Poland and the Balkans, among others. She will play a key role in expanding Mambu’s footprint across Southern and Eastern Europe and supporting the modernisation of the banking industry.

Ms Aliño brings with her many years of international experience with her career to date spanning corporate finance, private equity, impact investing and fintech equity. She also has a wealth of expertise and a deep understanding of digital transformation within financial services, having worked with both traditional banks and fintechs to hone their digital strategies.
