Paymentus, the leading provider of innovative bill payment solutions and a principal sponsor of the Alliance for Innovation’s Transforming Local Government 2020 virtual conference (July 28-30, 2020) today announced a new educational track available exclusively for conference attendees. As the coronavirus pandemic spread across the United States, many local government agencies were forced to rapidly take their operations online. This swift transformation revealed operational weak points – especially in billing management, presentment, and payments. To help local governments identify, categorize, and address these issues, Paymentus researchers, billing specialists, and operational engineers have condensed highly complex billing challenges into an easy to grasp, highly actionable educational campaign.

“We are thrilled to partner with AFI to help local governments get a handle on and overcome the issues that can create billing and payment nightmares if not tamed immediately,” said Nicole Haskins, VP of Public Sector Sales for Paymentus. “Citizens expect to do business in ways that are seamless, swift, and secure. Local governments and public utilities must keep pace. We’re excited to launch this new educational campaign to this year’s TLG attendees.”

The Paymentus Billing and Payment Monsters educational track will be offered to TLG2020 attendees throughout Wednesday July 29 and on Thursday July 30 at 8:00AM PDT. Paymentus will explore the most vexing billing and payment challenges facing local governments, including inefficient billing systems, cumbersome user experiences and low adoption of online payment solutions, as well as dive into consumer payment trends like the increased popularity of digital wallets, voice and chatbot payments and the vast security considerations that underpin all.

“The Alliance is excited to have Paymentus present this creative campaign to our attendees as the principal sponsor of TLG. Currently, local governments are relying more and more on digital payment channels for their citizens, so it’s a good time to take a look at ways to improve or enhance their current systems,” explains Joel Carnes, CEO of AFI.

Beyond sponsorship of TLG2020, Paymentus has also joined the AFI Corporate Partner program, joining other commercial businesses and non-profit organizations in support of the Alliance’s mission to be the Premier Resource for Emerging Practices. Corporate Partner Program members provide educational content including free regional workshops, free national webinars, and Solutions Journal case study articles.

“I personally have enjoyed a 20-year working relationship with AFI and are pleased to be a part of its Corporate Partner program with Paymentus,” said Paymentus’ Haskins. “We look forward to sharing our innovative solutions and helping AFI serve its members as they seek to innovate and transform their local government operations in alignment with consumer payment needs to meet the demands of the market.”
