INCO Financial Tackles UK Adviser Gap with Investment in Next Generation of Talent

Independent financial planning firm INCO Financial has highlighted its ongoing investment in early-career talent across its Sheffield and Leeds offices, demonstrating how multi-pathway development is helping to build a sustainable future for the firm and the industry.

With the UK financial services sector facing a well-documented adviser shortage and an ageing workforce, INCO’s strategy focuses on pairing formal professional qualifications with early, hands-on exposure to client work.

The firm’s approach supports individuals entering the profession in several ways:

• Professional Qualifications: Team members Amelie Rodgers and Evan Richards have both achieved their Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. Having completed their technical exams, both are now working towards Competent Adviser Status by attending client meetings alongside senior advisers.

• Flexible Entry Pathways: Rodgers joined the business directly after completing her A-levels, whilst Richards joined from Aviva following his studies at the University of Sheffield, illustrating the firm’s commitment to flexible entry routes into wealth management.

• Higher Education Placements: Seb Hodgson recently completed a 12-month industrial placement with INCO before returning to university for his final year, gaining direct experience in client meetings and financial planning operations.

Simon Megson, Managing Director at INCO Financial, said:

“Developing future advisers is a core part of our long-term plan. By providing structured qualification support alongside practical client experience, we ensure our team builds the expertise and confidence needed to support clients for years to come. Whether joining straight from school or after university, creating accessible career pathways is essential for the future of our firm and our clients.”

INCO Financial plans to continue embedding trainees across both its Sheffield headquarters and its newly established Leeds office, combining academic study with close mentorship.
