Micro-Mobility Leader, Helbiz Partners with Alibaba's Mobile and Online Payments Platform, Alipay

A renowned leader in the field of micro-mobility, Helbiz, recently got into a partnership with Alipay, Alibaba Group’s mobile and online payments platform which serves more than 1.2 billion customers worldwide. This partnership will enable Alipay’s global customers to seamlessly ride Helbiz devices throughout Italy by integrating Alipay’s payment functionality onto the Helbiz app. The move has been backed by a major Italian financial firm, Banca Profilo, and facilitated by Tinaba, a digital payment solution. Helbiz has decided to co-brand its devices with Alipay logos in order to demonstrate its commitment to the partnership.

Alipay offers seamless transactions for Chinese tourists traveling abroad. In partnership with over 250 financial firms in 55 nations, Alipay is used by tens of thousands of merchants across the globe. The latest development concerning the partnership between Helbiz and Alipay will numerous Chinese tourists visiting Italy at the end of January over the Lunar New Year holiday navigate their experiences across Italy without trouble.

Salvatore Palella, founder and CEO of Helbiz, said that the partnership between the two companies will enable enables millions of Alipay users to access Helbiz’s electric devices easily and experience Italy in a fun, convenient and environmentally sustainable way. Salvatore added that Helbiz is leading a more sustainable and more inclusive movement through its micro-mobillity programs and that Alipay’s integration will help promote a cashless economy and work towards the goal of serving global citizens.
