Riley joined X as CFO in 2015, responsible for X’s investment strategy across a portfolio of moonshot projects. This followed 12 years at Google, where she held a succession of senior leadership roles in finance, business strategy and analytics for Google’s international sales, G&A and marketing organizations respectively. Prior to this, she was a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and an investment banker at Morgan Stanley in London.

Linville spent close to a decade at Citigroup as CEO of Citi Global Cards and Consumer Services, which put him in charge of the largest global card franchise, with $13 billion in revenue and 55 million customers across 18 countries. Prior to Citi, Jud was President and CEO of Consumer Services at American Express, where he led a variety of businesses across Card, Travel and Global Prepaid.

“This is a personal assignment for me. I’ve been a longtime fan of Jason and his management team at Marqeta and how they are singularly focused on solving customer problems,” said Jud Linville. “Marqeta is an undisputed category leader, disrupting legacy payment platforms and how money moves in a developer-first world. I look forward to supporting them as they achieve these ambitions.”
