GrailPay Raises $10.5M Series A to Scale Risk Decisioning Infrastructure for the Future of Instant, Agentic Payments

GrailPay Raises $10.5M Series A to Scale Risk Decisioning Infrastructure for the Future of Instant, Agentic Payments

Series A Capital brings total funding raised to $17.2M, fueling expansion of GrailPay Payments Identity Network for the future of instant payments and agentic commerce, where faster, zero-fail rails have removed the buffers of time and reversibility that traditional payments have historically relied on.

GrailPay, the risk and data network for B2B payments, announced a $10.5 million Series A led by MissionOG, with participation from EJF Ventures, Counterpart Ventures, Construct Capital, Commerce Ventures, and SSC Venture Partners. The funding will accelerate expansion of GrailPay’s Payments Identity Network, the trust layer for bank account risk in the future of agentic and instant business payments.

“$80T. That’s the size of the B2B payments economy that will go unaddressed by the flurry of innovation we’re seeing in agentic protocols. We’ve been building foundational infrastructure for the coming wave of B2B payments innovation. Our Payments Identity Network covers over 99% of US bank accounts, providing auditable identity profiles for trust and authentication to usher in the future of agentic payments and instant settlement.”
– Will Messina, Co-founder & CEO, GrailPay

Legacy solutions in the payments risk decisioning space have long relied on resale of siloed datasets, presentation of binary decision outcomes without context, and high broker fees marking up existing data simply for access, without enhancement of insights.

The market requires a more comprehensive, advanced solution to match the pace of innovation in AI and digital assets.

GrailPay’s risk decisioning models aggregate proprietary first-party processing data from its payments platform business with numerous leading third-party data sources, providing tailored insights into the risk profile of a bank account and the identities associated with it, the critical first step in underwriting the risk of new commerce use cases like agentic payments, stablecoin cross-border remittances, and instant, guaranteed bank payments. Its network of bank account risk profiles is one of the largest available today, and provides the foundation for widespread commercial adoption of agentic payments.

Originally founded as a modern bank payments API platform, GrailPay has grown its processing volume to billions in annualized ACH origination volume while doubling growth quarter over quarter; a foundation of first party data which now supports risk decisioning commercial partnerships with some of the largest financial institutions and fastest growing fintechs in the world. The business has had zero churn to date, with customers on average growing their spend over 200% in the first year of partnership with GrailPay.

GrailPay’s platform presents a composable suite of risk products, including Account Intelligence, Transaction Intelligence, and Guaranteed ACH, paired with the API payment processing platform offering a variety of payment speeds and flow of funds.

“ACH is the backbone of B2B commerce but has never had the risk and authorization infrastructure that card networks have had for decades, a gap that only grows as payments become instant and autonomous. GrailPay built this trust layer the hard way, combining money movement with risk intelligence to create a data flywheel that gets smarter with every transaction. Will and the GrailPay team have the domain expertise and product vision to make the future of payments faster and safer, and we’re thrilled to partner with them.”
– Kevin Leonard, Partner & Lead Investor, MissionOG

The Series A capital will fund data analytics, modeling research, and GTM penetration into agentic and instant payments use cases, along with expansion of the existing Payments Identity Network to deepen coverage for banking and banktech infrastructure, payment processors, embedded fintech platforms, AR/AP systems, and risk platforms.
